Man Injured in Drive-by Shooting

A man was injured Wednesday in a drive-by shooting incident in Hospital Ground, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim seeking treatment at the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center. The victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper right side of his body.

The man told officers he’d been walking in the vicinity of Hospital Ground when a car raced towards his direction and someone in the vehicle opened fire. The victim said he immediately fired back towards the vehicle, and then began feeling disoriented due to a gunshot injury.

The victim, whose name was not released by police, was transported to the hospital by an unknown vehicle and received medical treatment.
