On Thursday, Jan. 1, at approximately 3:42 a.m., the 911 Call Center received a call concerning a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds in the area of Estate Contant. The victim was subsequently transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center for medical treatment, reported the Virgin Islands Police Department.
Responding officers arrived at the Schneider Regional Medical Center and made contact with medical personnel who stated that the victim sustained at least two gunshot wounds to his left leg, another to the right arm, and to the left femur, according to the police report.
The victim stated that he was sitting outside in the area of Contant when he was approached by four males. A verbal altercation ensued, after which one of the males shot him. The victim declined to provide any additional information, the report stated.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to notify the 911 Emergency Call Center or Detective E. Rijo of the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211.
