Messilena Jackson Carey of St. Thomas died on Dec. 15. She was 70 years old.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Jackson Levine; her father, Leroy Jackson; and her husband, Maurice Louis Carey.
She is survived by her children: Nyeeba Milliner, Aishia Isaac and Afia Carey; grandchildren: Nikye Knight, Jo’Moie Lee, Amaree Mason, A’Jhan Bellot, T’Niyah Francis and J’Niyah Angol; great-grandchildren: Mazayah Lee and Ja’Liya Lee; and sisters: Cherise Jackson and Ann Jackso.
She is also survived by brothers: Leroy Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Mahlon Jackson and Anselmo Harris special sons: Junior Lee and Kareem Forbes and John Bellot; and special friends: Millicent Richardson and Desiree Richardson; as well as a host of family and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 29, at Blyden’s Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Western Cemetery.
