Fall is in the air and it is time to bring the whole family down to the 2nd Annual Harvest Festival & Pumpkin Patch this Saturday, Oct. 14th from noon p.m. to 5 p.m. at Magens Bay. This year’s festival will have a pumpkin patch, tractor hayrides, community fair, kids zone, farmers market and youth performances.
Parents can let their kids choose a favorite pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch, which will feature 1,000 pumpkins, bales of hay, and a picturesque spot to take a family photo. Included with the pumpkin purchase is the opportunity to paint or carve a personal pumpkin. Pumpkins will cost between $15-$20 depending on the size.
Next, get the tickets for the Tractor Hayride departing from Shed 4. Tickets cost $5 each; kids 10 and under must ride with an adult. The VI Justice Initiative thanks RapierMed, Custom Builders, the Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation for helping to make this year’s Tractor Hayride bigger and better than ever!
Take a stroll through the Farmers Market and Community Fair. We have 41 booths this year to enjoy, including tasty fall treats, vendors of all sorts, non-profit organization and business booths, free kids dental screenings and more!
There will be music by DJ Dell, youth performances by the St. Thomas Majorettes and MLB School of Dance, and Youth MC Tymarri Lee giving away prizes, including family day passes to Coral World! There will be fun for the whole family in the Kids’ Zone featuring the Virgin Islands Children’s Museum and Tropical Treasure Hunt.
This event is free with just the cost of admission to Magens Bay. It benefits the Virgin Islands Justice Initiative, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on creating opportunities for the poor to succeed through economic justice and poverty law. The VI Justice Initiative provides free legal representation, education and resources for economic and social mobility.
Major sponsors include RapierMed, Department of Tourism, Division of Festivals, Alpine Securities USVI, Southland Gaming VI, International Capitol and Management Company, Yacht Haven Grande, FirstBank, Magens Bay Authority, St. Thomas Properties, Office of Gun Violence and Prevention, and The Source.
