On Sunday, the Dominican Republic Independence Day Parade was back in full swing in the town of Christiansted, St. Croix. This is the 14th year that the U.S. Virgin Islands has celebrated the parade and it is also the first in two years since the pandemic.
The colors red, blue, and white could be seen throughout the parade and from those viewing the parade as well. The parade included 24 different groups and entries such as the St. Croix Majorettes, Pearl B. Larsen PreK to 8th Grade, Lew Muckle Elementary School, Ricardo Richards Elementary School, and other participants.
After the parade people enjoyed performances at the DC Canegata Ballpark. Some performers were the Vio International Band, Kruziano, and flown in from the Dominican Republic, the group La Vega Dominican Republica.
