Blocked Sewer Line Causing Overflow on Queen Mary Highway

A portion of the LBJ sewer line in the area south of the Gateway Gas Station on Queen Mary Highway is blocked, according to a release from the V.I. Waste Management Authority.

The blocked line is causing an overflow of sewage in the area. The flow is running along the natural gut and running into the South Shore Road at the Hess Road intersection.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes during this time and to avoid driving through the flow.

The VIWMA advises all residents with comnpromised immune systems to avoid the area during this time as the sewage may contain contaminants that will negatively impact their health.

The Authority has mobilized one of its contractors to evaluate the situation and make the repairs, the release said.
