V.I. SHIP/Medicare Symposium Slated for September

The V.I. State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) will hold its second annual Medicare Symposium in conjunction with the New York Regional Office of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from Sept. 9-11, at the Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort and Casino, St. Croix, according to a press release from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
The symposium, “Making Medicare Work for You,” will offer providers, partners, stakeholders and advocates of Medicare pertinent information on the program and offer sessions on improving outreach to its recipients. VI SHIP Director and Medicare Coordinator Rena Sarauw especially encourages providers and those working in the medical profession that specifically deal with billing or Medicare claim processing to register for the free event, for they will have the chance to interact directly with members of the CMS team and offer complaints or suggestions on the Medicare reimbursement process.
Persons or organizations interested in registering should contact the VI SHIP office at 772-7368 for a registration form or more information. Or e-mail: rena.sarauw@lgo-vi.gov
The V.I. SHIP programs are federally funded and locally administered by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
