Feb. 4, 2003 – Shortly before noon on Tuesday, an Innovative Telephone contract repair crew working in Estate La Reine accidentally damaged a main telephone fiber cable, eliminating service in Mon Bijou, Frederiksted, Mount Pleasant and Estate St. John, and at Hovensa and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport.
Innovative Telephone spokesman Thomas Dunn said 95 percent of service was restored by 1:45 p.m. Tuesday and that crews would continue to work until all service was back on line.
