Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement regarding President Joseph Biden’s 2nd State of the Union Address:

“Last night, in his State of the Union Address, President Biden delivered a message of progress and the sound economic plan he has to grow the economy from the bottom up and middle out, helping those in the middle class and our most needy. He highlighted how his agenda is generating a manufacturing boom in clean energy, infrastructure and other areas, as well as the need to finish what we as Democrats have begun.

“While we all recognize all the progress that has been made in the last two years, President Biden also understands that all Americans have not felt in their pocketbooks and in their lives the progress that has been made. The Democrats are committed to supporting President Biden and his administration to bring the incredible laws passed on the ground to people and to work hard for all Americans, including Virgin islanders, on police reform, lowering the cost of drugs—particularly insulin, improving healthcare, and bettering the quality of life in our nation and territories.

“I and my team will continue to work with President Biden and his administration to Build a Better Virgin Islands and America.”
