History repeated itself during Friday’s Legislative session, where once again prohibiting the use of corporal punishment in a school setting was struck down by legislators, this time by a 12-2 vote. #visource#usvi#news... See MoreSee Less
Please ask these 12 politicians would they allow their own children to be beaten in school?
Maybe if we the parents did better at teaching our children about the True Living God & His word ,his truth & his way ! ! ! We would not be living on this tiny islands with the most corrupt politicians ( the Lodge ) who runs all of u & we would not have the highest murder rate of any place or territories in the U.S. and we wouldn’t be walking around bragging how many children we got by how many women !!! But know we beat our women and they get tired of the man and then they start engaging in same sex with other women like some of our politicians that u yourself thought u voted into office !!!!! It all a lie & why do they do the process of injecting the dead souls of the lodge into the tree that grow around the legislature ? Looks like all u forget the cow foot woman she ain’t walking and riding in taxis.she after you who ain’t covered by the Blood of Christ !!!
Oftentimes kids are misbehaving because they just want your attention or they need guidance and parameters. They want to be recognized and know that they are worthy. Teach them to resolve conflict without violence. Teach them that it is not okay to take someone else's life and that death is a finality. A child is born with an empty plate and, depending on what they are fed, that will determine what kid of adult they will become.
This is backwards, there are better ways to discipline children. Parents need to set an example of good behavior for their children
But if a parent dares to spank their child family services is on their doorstep. 😐
Leave physical punishment to the parents.
I can not believe this is even still a thing here.
Hold on, this failed not once, but TWICE?! I hope all VI tax payers are satisfied that they are paying for people to abuse children in our schools...
Good for them. I know when I was in school, the threat of an ass spanking kept me out of trouble. We all know what happens when the laws that keep this society civil are not obeyed, BLM.
Separation of church and state. Reason over faith. JS.
Sad you on point. Thanks for given it your best effort
Lol, we elected this.
This is disgraceful!!!
Gotta protect VI culture. Child abuse.
Corporal punishment is government sanctioned child abuse- I am absolutely shocked and appalled that a supermajority of our elected officials could and would support this.
Shepherd’s do not beat their flock with a rod. They use it to guide them, and beat off predators with it. If you read this article, past the first few paragraphs which are somewhat irrelevant, you will read what I believe that scripture means. Here is a little excerpt if you don’t feel like reading:
“In the time scripture was written, and even still today, shepherds used various tools to guide their sheep. They use a staff, or a crook, and a rod. The crook is the curved stick you see in cartoon depictions of shepherds. When sheep fall into a pit or lose sight of their flock, they look down. The curved end of the crook is used to pull the sheep’s head back up and guide it in the way it should go. In the same way, the rod is used to guide sheep who begin to splinter away from the flock back together. It can also be used defensively to keep the sheep safe from predators.
This Proverb, as with many proverbs and teachings of Jesus, teaches using a parable. It does not intend for children to be physically punished as the only means of correction. It refers to teaching them through guidance and appropriate discipline. Discipline, according to this PMC article, is about positively influencing behavior in children, not about punishing them. It says, “Discipline allows children to develop self-discipline, and helps them become emotionally and socially mature, secure adults.” It goes on to explain that effective discipline is that which is self-enhancing for the child. Leading children to self-discipline is congruent with Proverbs 22:6, which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” “
This is BULLSHIT! The VI students should NOT get beaten by a school official. Schools should be a SAFE place for children. Sens. Sarauw and Novell Francis, Jr. you will get my vote. The rest of you F*%# Off!!!
Spare the rod ! Spoil the child ! Proverbs 13 : 24 written by the wisest king of all Solomon . Married to who The Greatest Queen of all from Ethiopia The Queen of Sheba !!! Who all u going listen too . Need get out Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth !!!!!!
