Teshawn Nisbett, 22, of St. Thomas, pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to possession of a firearm by an unlawful drug user, U.S. Attorney Ronald W. Sharpe announced.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 6, 2017.
According to the plea agreement filed with the court, on Aug. 4 special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives recovered a Glock pistol from Nisbett, who was a daily user of marijuana and had been an unlawful drug user for the past five years.
The case was investigated by the ATF and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Meredith Edwards.
