The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority is advising the public of an active fire on the working face at the Bovoni Landfill today, Friday, July 24, which began at approximately 12:30 p.m.
The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services, along with VIWMA’s contractor and response teams, are on site managing the situation to ensure the fire remains contained.
Residents are advised to exercise caution when traveling near the area and to stay tuned for updates from the Authority.
