Derick O. Deport, aka “Chicken,” of William’s Delight, passed away on March 3. He was 69 years old.

He was preceded by his mother, Majorie Deport, and father, John Braid.
He is survived by his caretaker, Marian Ernest; daughters, Jacquelyn Deport, Kendra Herbert; son, Derick O. Deport, Jr.; grandchildren, Anais Edwards, Asante Serrant, Amarion Serrant, Monifa Herbert, Keshawn Herbert, Armani Pindi, Amari Pindi; great-grandchild, Jae’Mari Pindi; sisters, Glenda Duport, Carmen Duport; brother, Attis Duport, Cedric Duport; daughter-in-law, Bernice Samuel-Deport; special friends, Simore Hendrickson, Members of the St. Croix Taxi Federation, Philbert Titre, Luz James; precious friends and other relatives too numerous to mention.
Funeral service will be held on March 26 at the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church (#2 William’s Delight). Viewing begins at 9:30 a.m., with service at 10:30 a.m.
