Sheila May Beatrice Smith-Andrews also known as “Mama Sheila” died on Dec. 1, 2025 on St. Croix, USVI. 

Sheila May Beatrice Smith-Andrews

She was born on Dec. 6, 1932 in St. John’s, Antigua. She then migrated to St. Croix where she was preceded in death by her late husband Joseph Andrews Sr.; Daughter, Bernadette Brown-Richards; Son, Joseph Andrews Jr.; Son-In-Law, Patrick Richards Sr.; Grandchildren, Patrick Richards, Jr., Reynisha Rivera, Jonah and Jonas Andrews, Joseph Andrews IV. 

She is survived by her  Daughters: Sandra Andrews, Patricia Andrews-Collins; Sons, Neil Stanley, Samuel Andrews, Roy Anthony Andrews, Alfredo Andrews, Sylvester Andrews and Joseph” Agenie” Andrews Jr.; Grandchildren: Reanne Richards, Leonardo Richards, Tekiesha Humphreys, Jenner Weste, Anisha Collins, Elsworth Jr., Darnell  Itieba, Mallacoy, Aaliyah and Deandre Francis, Rasheen Knight, Sayeeda, Shenequa, Steadford Jr. Shamalia , Shanifa, Shamoi, S’Quan Buffong, Kimya and Alfredo Andrews Micheal Brady, Christian, Alicia, Kyra, Alicia, Joseph III,  Jelani Andrews; 70 Great Grandchildren and 20 Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Elcina Smith and Dorothy Newell; Cousins, Eustace Rose, Joseph Adlum, Lolita Graham,The Lake Family; Nieces, Carol Merchant, Charlene Horsford; Nephew: Dell Merchant; Close Friends, Heslyn & Glenwood Reynolds, Catherine Dya, Carolyn Friday, Alva Stapleton, Steadroy Benjamin, Laurel Benjamin, Desiree Allen. Other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. 

Special Thanks to: Sayeed Buffong, Continuum Care, Foretress Adult Daycare and Assisted Living Center, Seventh-Day Adventist Hope Church, Warden Diana Grant at John Bell Adult Correctional Facility.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Central Seventh Day Adventist Church. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. Private cremation will follow.
