Rosie May Penn Dies at 68

It is with profound sadness that we, the family of the late Rosie “Rosa” May Penn, announces her untimely passing on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025 on St. Thomas, USVI.

Rosie was a well-loved member of the Penn Family and will be remembered for her dedication to the family business known as the Daylight Bakery / Diamond Barrel Restaurant. She will also be cherished as a well-loved member of the Ivanna Eudora Kean’s Class of 1976.

Rosie transitioned on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the tender age of 68.

She is survived by her loving mother, Mrs. Marilyn Fahie Penn Smith; sisters Brendaley Penn- Lewis, Sherill, Jennifer, Dr. Katherine, and Dana Penn, brothers: Romney Sr., Dudley Sr., Franzel, George, Dr. Franklyn, Liston, Renaldo Sr., Glen, Devon, and Jordan.

Rosie is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family and special friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27, at Wesley Methodist Church in Estate Tutu. Viewing begins at 9 a.m. with the service following at 10 a.m.  Burial will take place at the Eastern Smith Bay Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Turnbull’s Funeral Home and Crematory Services.
