The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism is excited to announce new and expanded airlift from American Airlines, enhancing travel options for visitors from the Midwest ahead of the peak winter season.
Beginning Dec. 6, 2025, American Airlines will launch new Saturday service from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) on St. Croix, offering travelers a direct connection to the island’s vibrant culture and natural beauty.
Additionally, starting Dec. 18, American Airlines will increase its current Saturday-only service from Chicago O’Hare to Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas to daily flights, making it even easier for travelers to enjoy the world-renowned beaches and attractions of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
“These expanded routes from one of our key gateway cities reflect the strong and growing demand for travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands,” said Joseph Boschulte, Commissioner of Tourism. “We thank American Airlines for their continued partnership and investment in our destination. This increased connectivity will not only enhance convenience for our visitors but also support our tourism-driven economy and the many businesses that rely on it.”
The additional service strengthens the U.S. Virgin Islands’ position as a top Caribbean destination for leisure travelers, particularly during the high-demand winter season.
