Iris Leona Acoy-Canton Dies at 85

Iris Leona Acoy-Canton, of Sally’s Fancy, passed away on April 17. She was 85 years old.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Canton, Brenda Canton, Lurene Canton-Jarvis, Dianne Canton- Reed; son, Delroy Canton; grandchildren, Adrian Ferris, Gregory Jackson Jr., Shevonne Rios, Joel Mohan, Danielle Canton-Thomas, Daniel Canton, Dalina Canton, Nicole King, Gary Jarvis, Jerae Jarvis, Dominique Reed, Mya Reed; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Kristion & Azariah Ferris, Rudy Jr., Amir & Mei Faulkner, Jeremiah Jackson; brother, Hubert Acoy Jr.; nieces, Velma Phillips, Donna Harris, Janet Wright, Carol Christian, Tanya Fenelon, Edna Creighton, Omayra Murray, Stephanie Williams, Terri, Barbara, Laura, Vivian, and Shenelle Acoy; nephews, Victor Murray Jr., Stanley, Alphonso Jr., Lauritz Jr. Acoy, Herman Jackson, Charles Rawlins; daughter-in-law, Marilynn Canton; sons-in-law, Gary Jarvis, Llewelyn Reed; brother-in-law, Florintin Fenelon; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Acoy, Eunice Acoy, Inez Sewer, Roselyn Lang; godchildren, Erick Willie, Ericka Willie, Terique Riviere, Aaron Daley; cousins and other relatives, Horsford Family, White Family, Bailey Family, Sentill Family, Murray Family; other precious family members too numerous to mention; special friends, Agatha Canton, Elaine Canton, Dolores Bess & Family, Daley Family; other special friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral service will be held on May 9 at Southgate Baptist Church. Viewing will begin at 9 am, with service at 10 am. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery. The family asked that attendees wear any shade of green to honor Iris.
