Fort Christian Parking Lot Closed Jan. 1 To April

The Department of Public Works announces the full closure of the Fort Christian Parking Lot to the public to accommodate a major renovation project.

The project, undertaken by DPW contractor Grace Civil, LLC, involves trenching,
installing waterlines and valve boxes in the southern area of the lot, milling, paving, and striping. The last day vehicles can park in the lot is Dec. 31. This project is scheduled to be completed by early April 2025, ensuring the parking lot is ready for use ahead of the 2025 Carnival festivities.

To minimize the impact on motorists, PW has coordinated with the Virgin Islands Police Department and the Virgin Islands Port Authority to provide alternative parking on the Veterans Drive waterfront apron for the duration of the project. Please note that to accommodate VIPD parking, there will be no traffic access to the southbound lane on Hospital Gade, adjacent to the police station.
The Department of Public Works thanks the community for its understanding
and patience as it continues efforts to improve infrastructure across the territory.
