The V.I. Port Authority’s 2024 Holiday Fest was a vibrant cultural celebration, beginning its two-part festivities Wednesday on St. Croix. This annual event took place at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility on the island’s west side.

Two ships were seen in port as the festivities began at 10 a.m. and continued into the night. Vendors sold local foods and drinks while performers entertained guests.

As the ships set sail out to sea, more locals came out to enjoy the festivities. Santa Claus also arrived on a firetruck, handing out gifts and taking pictures with excited children who were eagerly waiting to see him.

At the event, Executive Director Carlton Dowe said, “On behalf of the Port Authority, we want to welcome you and eat, drink, be merry, be safe.”
“We started this as a way to bring local stars and talent out,” he continued, speaking on the lineup of local talent.

The performances included Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights, VIO International, the Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra, the Guardians of Culture Moko Jumbies, the Central High School Golden Voices, the Lew Muckle Elementary School Quadrille Dancers, the St. Croix Majorettes, the St. Patrick’s Catholic Steel Pan Orchestra, DJ Karl, and Selecta Kuff.

The festivities will continue on St. Thomas on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Crown Bay Center at the Austin Babe Monsanto Marine Facility from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
