With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Walter A. Ells on Nov. 22.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Corea; mother, Theresa H. Ells; daughters  Keshelle Ells; brothers, Alric Corea, Winston Ells; and sister; Augustina Ells.

He is survived by his spouse, Lydia L. Smith-Ells; children, Kesha M. Ells, Walter A. Ells, Jr. (Okie) and Katchena Potter; grandchildren, Ayana, Ajahni and Amari Phillips, Romell Morone, Zea Ells; great-grandchildren, Kaylon Winter, Amir Phillips; brothers; Carl Corea, David McDonald, Eddon and Breuno Ells; and sisters, Jean Charles, Teresa Ells-Spencer, Veolan Cupid, Sheryl Dore, Kayann Ells-Prince, and Dena Ells; brothers in law, Henry, Nerbert and Alwon Smith, Rodney Prince, Leonard Charles, Rodney Dore; sisters in law; Annette Smith, Alicia Temlong, Alena and Beverly Smith, and Enide Corea; and special friends, Troy Ferguson, Elton Saunders, Kenneth Donovan, Allister McMaster, Felicia (Ms. Bush) Prosper, Jean Eliman, Benedict Caesar, Wendell Walker, David Benjamin, Al Boston, Neville Richardson, Gerald Mercer, Jose Lettsome and Associates of Ritz Carlton Hotel, L’esCargot Restaurant, Westin Hotel & Villas, Frenchman’s Reef Holiday Inn, Elysian Beach Resort, and Renaissance Grand Beach Resort, and the following families: Smith, Thomas, Hodge, Meyers, MacTavious, Pickering, Fraser, Forbes, Findlay & Henry. Many other relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

Family and friends invite all to join in celebrating his life:

First viewing is Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 18, with the viewing: 9 a.m. to 10 a. m., followed by the service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Internment will be at Western Cemetery #2
