Anguilla Landfill on STX Closed Friday Due to Flare-Up

The Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix will be closed Friday due to a flare-up of a fire from last weekend, the Waste Management Authority announced.

The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Service, VIWMA, and the landfill contractor are working diligently to extinguish the fire, the agency said. The public is advised to avoid any smoke that may be coming from that area, and to stay tuned to social media for further updates.
