As work on the First Avenue Drainage Improvement Project on St. Thomas continues, the Public Works Department advises the community of an upcoming road closure on segments of the roadway.
Starting Monday, Aug. 05, DPW contractor – Island Roads Corp. – will continue road work on 7th and 8th Street (WorkZone3) and facilitate a full road closure between 6th and 7th Street (WorkZone4).
Homeowners in the vicinity will have access to the nearby parking garages while construction is in progress.
Motorists traveling down 7th Street will be allowed to exit left onto First Avenue. Also, motorists traveling down 5th Street will be allowed to turn left onto First Avenue and 6th Street.
All parked and abandoned vehicles must be removed from the roadsides to ensure roadwork can continue as scheduled.
