SPC Daveonte TéShawn Parris died on June 30. He was 21 years old.

He is survived by his mother, Anekia Samuel; fathers: Dave “Sambow” Parris and Akil “Kelo” Johnson; brother, Daunte’ Omari Charles; sister, Dominique Destiny Parris; adopted brothers: Deandre’ Parris and Branden Khan; companion, Genesha Stone; grandmothers: Anetta Rogers-Parsons, Viola Parris, Marcia Johnson and Augustina Davoren; grandfathers: John Parsons, John Davoren, Paul Samuel (deceased) and Larry Johnson; and godparents: Khrishna Victor-Kirby and Latania Graham.

He is also survived by great-grandparents: Alphonsina Rogers and Clarence Rogers (deceased); aunts: Marsha Revan, Zakiya Jacobs, Denise and Dawn Parris, Jamila Lettsome, Garolyn Farrell, Sonet Fenton, and Frances, Joann, Una and Federona Davoren; uncles: Dennis Parris, Kevon and James Davoren; great aunts: Joan Wallace, Kathleen Williams, Florence, Sharon, Valerie, Jasmine and Yvonne Rogers, Cynthia, Lauretta and Bernadette Parris, Bernalyn, Lavern and Margaret Hobson; and great uncles: Teddy Charles, Terry Rogers, Clive, Benjamin and David Parris and Joseph Benjamin.

Other survivors include special family/friends: Roderick “RJ” Powlette Jr., Tyrell and Tyreke Edwards, Deidre Rogers, Luquan Bannis, Nakeeme Julian, Deserae Parris, Dshawn Parris, Divincia Parris,  Ryan Smith, Management/ Team of Parris Enterprise and family, Helius Charles, Haward Keneard, Elizabeth Vidal, 1SG Sanita Thorpe, SFC Damaris Vanzandt, Sean Gillett, HHC, 10th Support Group family, Japan family, Bethel SDA family; as well as many other family and friends too numerous to mention.

Tributes will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., Friday, July 28. at the City of Refuge Worship Center in Estate Barren Spot. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery Veteran Section.

Persons attending the service are asked to wear festive colors for this life celebration ceremony.
