Two men survived a boating incident Monday night when their boat ran aground near the WICO dock and capsized, the V.I. Police Department said.
According to police, the accident was reported to the 911 emergency call center at 11 p.m.
Arriving at the scene, officers contacted WICO security personnel, who traveled to Rupert Rock in their security vessel and rescued two Hispanic men.
The victims, whose names were not released by police, said they had boated over from American Yacht Haven in Red Hook in their 35-foot Marlin when they ran aground. The vessel then capsized upside down in the water, police said.
The two men were not injured and signed off with the emergency medical technicians, refusing medical and ambulance services.
