Residents who are holding a senior citizen’s ID card are advised that taxi drivers are not obligated to grant any discount on taxi fares including but not limited to the “dollar run” taxi service on St. Thomas and the “$2.50” taxi service on St. Croix, according to a press release issued on Monday by the Virgin Islands Taxicab Commission.
Taxi drivers are independent business owners whose businesses are not subsidized. Please be respectful by paying the fares listed on the official tariff.
