One Dead, Another Injured in St. Thomas Shooting

One man died and another was injured in a shooting that took place Thursday in the area of Estate Mahogany, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police identified the dead man as 22-year-old Kishawn Doyling. The injured victim in the second shooting is a 20-year-old male. The V.I. Police Department does not identify nonfatal victims.

It was the second homicide on St. Thomas since the beginning of the year, the fourth in the territory.

Officers were notified of the shooting at 10:48 p.m. Thursday, the department reported. When officers interviewed Doyling at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, he told police he was in the passenger seat of the second victim’s vehicle when shots were fired. According to medical personnel, Doyling was shot once in the left side of his abdomen and the second man was shot at least twice in the legs and once to the left side of his chest.

Doyling told police they did not see who shot them and did not notice any suspicious activity in the area at the time.

Medical personnel said Doyling died from his injuries about 2:45 a.m. Friday.

Police urged anyone who was in the area or knows anything about the case to call detectives at 1-340-714-9834 or 1-340-715-5522, the 911 emergency call center or the anonymous tip service, Crimes Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
