Norman A. Francis, also known as "Franco” or “Normie," of La Vallee died on Dec. 30, 2012. He was 88 years old.
He is survived by his spouse, Armamintha A. Johannes-Francis; sons: Larry A. Francis and Norman G. Francis; grandchildren: Russell Rodgers, Glenworth Francis, Reuben Smith, Morris Harrigan, Orsure’ Francis and Cyntoine Francis; great-grandchildren: Jasmine and Jordon Rodgers, Amalia and Aysela Smith, Ayana, Malik and Jahniya Francis, A-Sante’ and Sinoia Phipps, A’Lana Francis, Christian, Zakeem, Kinobi, Nehemiah, Jordon, Malachi, Trinity, Joel and Christopher Harrrigan; godchildren: David and Majorie Jackson, Andre Acoy and Maurice, Juliet and Margaret Cassimer; daughter-in-law, Susan McLean Francis; sisters-in-law: Maria Samuel and Ann Johannes; brothers-in-law: Milton Johannes and Ezekiel Johannes; and nieces: Inez Williams, Eclima Christian, Zula Bryon, Florabel Miller, Agenta Bailey, Arlene Hopkin, Estia Francis, Magdalene Francis-Benjamin, Denice Francis-Parris, Mae Francis and Lorna Francis.
He is also survived by nephews: Christel Byron, Glenworth Byron, Henry Francis, Claude "Tony" Francis, Delano Francis and Terrance Francis; 36 great nieces; 39 great-great nieces; 12 great- great-great nieces; 33 great nephews; 39 great-great nephews; five great-great-great nephews; special friends: the Lawaetz family, Donald K. A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
