Free Meals Served to Homeless and Needy at Rotary West Center

In observance of World Food Day 2012, over a hundred homeless and needy persons in the community ate nutritious meals at Rotary West Community Center in Frederiksted. Rotary West Club of St. Croix held it second annual feeding event on Sunday, Oct. 14. Invitations were given to folks on the street and the club got several referrals from charity organizations such as, My Brother’s Table, Ten Thousand Helpers and Eagle’s Nest.
The clientele feasted on king fish, baked turkey and ham served with rice, potato stuffing and vegetables, washed down with a freshly made local drink. “We will continue to feed the needy and the homeless and do our part to make the community a better place for everyone to live a safe and
healthful life,” said West Rotarian Clifford Christian. “We also ask the community to please support Rotary West’s fundraising activities whenever they can because we are here to help others.”
