The V.I. Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises St. Croix residents that effective July 5, the hours of operation at the Anguilla Landfill will be modified. Solid waste will now be accepted during the following hours:
Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
These changes will allow the VIWMA contractor, A-9 Trucking Enterprises Inc., ample time to meet Environmental Protection Agency mandates, which require all solid waste to be covered and compacted daily. The new hours of operation are pertinent to all users of the landfill, which includes contracted haulers, businesses and the general public.
