Members of the St. Thomas sport and commercial fishing community will wear their hearts on their sleeves with a Valentine’s Day event at Hull Bay to raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.
Under the banner of “Show your love to Haiti,” the Northside Sportfishing Club, St. Thomas Fisherman’s Association and V.I. Game Fishing Club will host local bands and a barbecue buffet served by Jen’s Gourmet Café and Gallery from 1-10 p.m. Sunday.
A donation of $10 buys admission to the performance plus a T-shirt.
All of the proceeds will go to the Haitian Relief Fund set up and administered by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands, according to the event organizers.
Performers will include Sun King, Oleik Ledee and George Berry, The Mountaineers, Mighty Whitey, Becca & So High So Low, and Obsession.
The barbecue buffet, served from 1- 9 p.m., will include barbecued chicken, beef brisket and shrimp scampi with all the fixings for $15 per person. Hot dogs will be available for the kids for $3.
Also, a romantic sit-down V.I.P. dinner catered by Jen’s Gourmet Café & Deli will be available for $75, which includes admission to the event. The V.I.P Valentines special menu includes fresh catch of the day, shrimp scampi and prime rib, plus dessert and champagne. Reservations are required in advance for seating between 6 -8 p.m. The V.I.P. dinner is also available for $95 per person on the day of the event, subject to available seating.
