March 31, 2007 — Detours for a road project affecting Mon Bijou Road-Route 73 will not begin until April 10, officials said.
"The change in the effective date of the detour is the result of unexpected delays in getting signage delivered to the island in a timely manner," said Acting Public Works Commissioner Robert Moorhead, according to a news release.
Originally scheduled for March 19, the detours "are essential for the continued work on the Mon Bijou Road project along Route 73," the release said. Communities impacted by the detours include Frangipani, Mon Bijou and Estates Little Fountain, Betzys Jewel and Canan.
