Botanical Garden Series Features Honey Bees

Oct. 5, 2007 – There is an opportunity for anyone interested in bees to learn more about these fascinating insects and their production of honey.
St. George Village Botanical Garden's monthly educational Grow and Learn series will feature local beekeeper Wanda Wright and local chef Wallace Phaire Jr. Their workshop will be held from 3-5 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Pavilion in the Bodine Visitors Center. The handling of bees, their importance in our ecosystem and the making of honey will be addressed by Wright; Phaire will conduct a honey tasting to compare several varieties.
The public is welcome. There is a small charge, with a discount for Botanical Garden members. Membership forms will be available at the workshop. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.
