Dear Source:
This is a letter to my fellow Virgin Islanders.
Be careful what you ask for Christmas. Whatever you do, buy energy saving appliances. Do not worry about the electricity because WAPA will find a way to squeeze out every dime you save. In the spirit of this 2007 holiday season, I want to wish everyone a WAPA Christmas. The following is a new jingle for the holidays. Sing it as you would sing "Jingle Bells."
WAPA bills, WAPA bills
WAPA raise my bills again
Oh what fun it would be
If the LEAC disappear
Dashing through the sun
I ran to pay my bill
I saw the LEAC rate
The price was overkill
I need to feed my kids
The rent it's almost due
There is no one to help
And Christmas it's just screwed.
By the way, once Christmas is over, the last line of this jingle may be changed to "I'm going to be screwed."
And if your Mama is alive and she has an electric stove, please do not let her bake the Johnny Cake since WAPA bills are coming!
