A Hospital Ground man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly firing shots from a machine gun in the Berg's Home area.
The Source has learned that police were called to the area around 1:30 a.m. to reports of automatic gunfire near the public housing community in Hospital Ground.
Police officers, acting on information from citizens, approached the apartment where the gunfire emanated and were greeted by the suspect holding a machine gun.
According to reports, the suspect quickly closed the door, turned off the lights inside the apartment and remained inside. Police eventually stormed the apartment, arresting him and confiscating the machine gun.
The suspect was being booked during the pre-dawn hours Saturday. He reportedly goes by the nickname "Heartache."
His full name, the formal charges against him and details on bail were not available early Saturday.
