The St. Croix Marine Corps Association is hosting its 5th Annual Toys for Tots Golf Tournament on Oct. 8.
Tee time is at 0830, thats 8:30 a.m. for civilians, at the Carambola Golf Course.
"Every penny raised goes to the purchase and distribution fo toys," said Marcy Davenport, Toys for Tots coordinator. "This is one of the few things youll readily see a Marine volunteer for."
Toys for Tots is a 54-year Marine Corps tradition that distributes more than 7 million toys each year nationwide. The local association has been active since 1995.
The tournament format is a four-person team scramble with a shotgun start. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for the for the top three teams as well as the top all-Marine team. A hole-in-one on the 14th wins a $10,000 cash prize with other prizes for aces on the courses other par threes.
Prizes will also be awarded for the mens and womens longest drive and closest to the pin.
