Dear Source:
After listening and reading about Friday the 13th's legislative session, I wonder if some of our elected representatives can also predict the weather?
Why was the attorney for Lloyds of London not allowed to give testimony? He should be able to speak on the issue, not just submit a letter. However, the letter spoke volumes. It stated that if this measure was passed, Lloyds could pull out of the territory. Senator Richards said it was a gamble. It seems to me all we do now is gamble.
Let's not gamble anymore; there is a large document that needs to be implemented. The Five Year Operating and Strategic Financial Plan has solutions to our woes. The proposed budget must reflect more of this plan. The implementation panel must be named by the governor. It was a wise decision on his part to create the task force, now it must be fully embraced by all parties involved.
