St. Thomas on Wednesday morning suffered its sixth homicide since the start of the year, according to the the V.I. Police Department.
It was the eighth homicide in the territory this year.
At 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, officers were told a man’s body was lying inside a vehicle in the area of Building 10 Tutu High Rise. At the scene, officers found the body of an unresponsive black man who appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as 20 year-old Leroy Rawlins, a resident of the housing community.
