Television reporter Wes Smalls has been jailed on St. Croix in lieu of $35,000 bail following his arrest Thursday on charges of child abuse and parental neglect.
Smalls was taken into custody by police at the Channel 8 studios in Sunny Isle Shopping Center around 9 a.m. on a warrant issued by Presiding Territorial Court Judge Maria Cabret, according to police officials. Police have alleged that in one instance, Smalls sent his son to procure controlled substances.
