April 26, 2003 The Caribbean Employers' Confederation will hold its 43rd annual general meeting on St. Thomas this year, in addition to a conference that will feature presentations on labor and employment laws, the impact of the free trade agreement of the Americas on Caribbean employers, and HIV/AIDS in the workplace.
Scheduled for May 8, the Virgin Islands Human Resources Management Association (VIRHMA) will host the CEC meeting at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Spa and Resort. Representatives from organizations on Antigua, Barbados, Jamaica, St. Kitts and other islands will attend, as will a representative of the International Labor Organization's office on Trinidad.
On May 9 VIHRMA along with cohost Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak and Stewart, LLC will present the all-day workshop, "Facing the Challenges of the V.I. and Caribbean Workplace," at the Wyndham, with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
