This is what is known as an air-plant(Tillandsia utriculata) found growing in the Maroon Sanctuary Park. Most trees within the park don’t have flower plants growing as epiphytes(air-plant) on their branches. In the virgin forest (northwest) of Maroon Park’s rugged ridge, there are more flower plants on trees, which indicates that one time there were more epiphytes on tree branches hanging from the forest canopies.
