Whim Museum cook house

The Estate Whim cook house dates back to the 18th century. The trees with it blue and purple blooms are native to the Virgin Islands known as Lignum vitae ( Guaiacum officinale). These trees were commonly grown on estates around buildings for its medicinal use and beautiful flowers. Lignum vitae is one of the most hard dese wood in the world. Many of the great houses and other historic buildings were built with Lignum vitae wood. (Photo by Olasee Davis)
