Police on St Croix are investigating a shooting that occurred around 4:35 p.m. Thursday in Christiansted’s Estate Richmond.
According to police, officers were alerted by 911 dispatchers of several calls of shots fired in the area. A 50-year-old man was injured in the shooting, police found when searching the area.
The victim said he was arguing with a Hispanic male minor and the minor pointed a handgun to his head and pulled the trigger but it did not discharge. The victim said he ran away, and the suspect began shooting at him.
The man was injured in his buttocks and groin area, according to police. He was transported to Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The suspect was described as having a light-skinned complexion and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.
