Police Investigate Death at Pearson Gardens

St. Thomas police are investigating the death of Carl Lettsome Jr., whose gunshot riddled body was found near the basketball courts at Paul M. Pearson Gardens around 5:50 a.m. Saturday.

Police were sent to investigate after 911 received several calls of shots being fired at the housing community, according to VIPD spokeswoman Melody Rames.

Lettsome, who was shot multiple times, was unresponsive when police showed up and emergency medical technicians were unable to find any vital signs, she said. Lettsome is a resident of PMP Gardens and is in his early to mid 30’s, Rames added.

Police are asking anyone in the community with information on Lettsome’s death to call Sgt. Lionel Bess at VIPD’s Major Crimes Unit at 998-6808 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
