Suspect Arrested in March 7 Murder

Ritchie Fontaine was arrested by members of the Major Crime Bureau on St. Thomas and charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Phillip John George, who was killed in the area of the Lexus Night Club on March 7.
Fontaine, 28, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant issued by Magistrate Allen Smith. Along with the murder charge, he was also charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, and reckless endangerment.
Fontaine, a native of Dominica, was in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections for a prior charge when he was rearrested. He was processed and returned to custody.
According to police reports at the time of the incident, George, 28, was killed and two other men were wounded in an apparent exchange of gunfire at 2:40 a.m. in front of the Lexus Adult Entertainment Nightclub in Estate Smith Bay.
