No USVI or Puerto Rico Mail Service on Friday

There will be no mail services in the USVI or in Puerto Rico on Friday, according to U.S. Postal Service representative Maureen Marion.

“The safety of our employees and our customers is paramount as we work towards solutions that will permit restoration of mail service. No postal employees are to report to work on Friday as vital assessments of postal infrastructure and employee headcounts continue to take place. I will provide that update as it becomes available,” Marion said in a statement.

The USPS asked postal employees to check in with their status using either 1-888 hotline, option 5 or new WHATSAPP / 978-761-0380. The agency requested one check-in for this storm event by each postal employee in the Caribbean District.
