Shooting Victim Recovering at Schneider Hospital

A man who was shot late Thursday in Estate Thomas was reportedly recovering from his injuries after surgery Friday at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, according to the V.I. Police Department.

At 11:49 p.m. Thursday, members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to the report of a shooting at Estate Thomas in the area of First Stop Gas Station. At the scene officers found a black male lying in the street next to the wall in the vicinity of Oswald Harris Court.

According to police, the male, whose name was not released, was shot when he and others were sitting on the wall. A dark SUV drove up and suspect in the car fired several shots at the individuals.
An ambulance transported the victim to Schneider, where he underwent surgery.
