Elsie Ortiz of Estate Mon Bijou died on Aug. 13, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. She was 68 years old.
She is survived by her companion, Francisco "Paco" Fernandez; sons: Florencio "Cito" Ortiz III and Orlando "Bundy" Ortiz; grandchildren: Felice "Chicky" Ortiz and Fabien Ortiz; daughter-in-law, Fanchester Ortiz; sister, Millie Cepeda; brother, Carlos O. “Landy” Calderon; nieces: Julie Gonzales, Lizza "Nicky" Calderon, Cherise "Shanty" Calderon, Evalise Calderon, Mary Calderon and Carla Calderon-Rougier; nephews: Ernst "Cuso" Schuster Jr., Eusebio Cepeda III, Carlos O. Calderon Jr. and Carlos "Chalito" Calderon III; and aunt, Isidra Falero.
She is also survived by special friends: Maria Richardson, Ida Cruz, Paula Osorio, Jay and Carmen Rentas, Nora M. Smith M.D., Myra Rójás, Norma Velma Cruz-Drew and Elroy Bates; cousins and other relatives: Ana E. Osorio, Luz Serrano, Rofy Rodriguez, Abba Falero, Raquel Falero, Margie Falero, Julio Osorio, Angel Osorio, Victor Osorio, Jenny Osorio, Ana H. Osorio, Raymond Serrano, Nerida Santana, Elia Benitez, Ana Martinez, Ruben Osorio, Sally Marrero and Gigi Sanabria; godson, Francisco Carmona (Cito); goddaughter, Marcela Cruz-Schjang; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
