Mercedes Maria Jackson Dies at 81

Dec. 17, 2007 – Mercedes Maria Jackson, also known as "Jako, Cedes or Teacher," of Golden Rock died on Dec. 10, at her residence.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane V. Tutein; sons: John F. Tutein, Wayne A. Tutein and Fritz R. Tutein Jr.; grandchildren: Ann F. James, Orlando L. Santos, Latoya M. Santos-Willis, Diana V. Southwell, Jahlil D., Sean M., Daniel A., William M. and Keri Tutein; and great- grandchildren: George S., Kahlil A. and Ahchaun M. James, and Kemari L.C. Hay. She is also survived by sisters: Norma Jackson Simmonds, Lorna Jackson Perez, Doreen Jackson, Sonja Setorie and Marie Begraff; brothers: Frank Jackson and Emanus Christian; adopted children: Inaq Eric Benjamin, Glenis Williams, Coleen Hodge and Lisa Bough; special friend: Fritz Tutein Sr.; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing from 10-10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at the church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
