The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program, which evaluates weekly water quality at 43 popular swimming beaches throughout the territory, advises the public of the following:

 The 2013 Quartermaster Regimental Honors Panel selected CW5 Ellen M. Magras as a Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment.

 Ashley Thomas, better known as “Max,” died on May 12 on St. Thomas. He was 69 years old.

 Ernestine R. Price, also known as “Elaine,” died on May 12. She was 77 years old.

 Rosealyn Pinney, also known as “Rosie,” died on May 8, at her residence. She was 48 years old.

 Rowan Hanley Sr., better known as “Glenroy,” died at the age of 58. He lived at Savan, St. Thomas, and was originally from Charlestown, Nevis.

On May 8, the members of the Rotary Club of St. Thomas II made significant presentations to the students, faculty and administration of their adopted Addelita Cancryn Junior High School at the Club’s weekly luncheon at Marriott’s Frenchman’s Reef Hotel.
