When I'm asked about working in radio in the islands, I always begin the story with how Lee Carle was instrumental in getting my 30-year broadcasting career started. One day, way back in the beginning when I was working the morning shift at WCRN, I realized the microphone wasn't working. Not able to locate anybody involved with the station, I called WVWI and asked if someone there had any suggestions. Lee got on the phone and talked me through taking the microphone apart and soldering a connection that had failed. My first attempt at soldering and it worked! Lee, a true professional, got me and the station back on the air.
I'm sorry to hear about his medical situation but happy -- and not surprised -- to know he'll back on the job as soon as he's able.
